Cambodia House Build

Cambodia House Build

During October our Sales Director Chris Brown and his wife visited Cambodia along with a group of other volunteers from the Canadian International School (CIS) in Singapore.

The whole group were in Cambodia to take part in house building for the homeless in the Phnom Penh area.

After fundraising, a total of $12,000 CAD was donated to the cause and this enabled the teams to build 6 homes on the day! Donated funds went towards the building of each home, a well for the community and a donation for the Tabitha Family Savings Programme.

The house-building trip began with an insightful orientation session, here volunteers have the chance to learn first-hand about the causes of, the results of and, most importantly, the solutions to poverty. The team then travelled to a project site to carry out the work.

During the Pol Pot area, Khmer people were made to feel they have no value-some Khmer still feel they are worthless. When volunteers come from overseas it helps them start to believing in their own value.

Everyone involved in the group returned home inspired by the experience of actively making a difference in another family's life and seeing first-hand the appreciation of the recipients.

AIM Commercial Cleaning was happy to support this wonderful cause and a big congratulations to all those that volunteered and travelled to Cambodia with CIS.
